On Golden Pond

Sometimes, a picture is worth more than 1,000 words. During peak leaf season, I was walking along pathways that hug the rim of Tallulah Gorge in northeast Georgia. By chance, I paused at an observation point overlooking the gorge's Tempesta Falls. With the sun setting behind me and leaves at their peak, I was witness to this remarkable scene. To the left of the pond, L'Eau d'Or Falls fills the pond. (The video provides a glimpse of the fall on a typical day.) On the day of the reflection, the surface of the pond above Tempesta and below L'Eau d'Or took on a golden appearance. If there's a lesson, it's to never leave home without your camera.
